Kaset

I recently participated in the Brackeys Jam 2020.2, where the theme was REWIND. The game that came out of it is an arcade space shooter, titled Kaset. Everything in the game was made by me during the jam, except for the music and sound effects which are credited on the game's page. Due to the theme triggering the idea for a cassette tape as the playable character, the art is themed around 80's synthwave graphics. Players earn score by destroying enemies either by shooting or by "rewinding" the tape while enemies are in their path. Kaset also features a combo system where killing multiple enemies in a short time rewards bonus points. Kills refresh the combo timer. I had a lot of fun making this game, and the challenge of finishing it in a week was really rewarding.
